Did you know there is a “beginning” before the Earth and mankind’s beginning? Yep its true. Long before God created the heavens and the Earth you and I see, the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit lived in heaven, in perfect harmony. They loved one another and they delighted in each other- they are Family and they lived this way for eternity past.
Then they began a new chapter. It began when Jesus created all the celestial beings. Angels, cherubs, seraphim; everything that is in God’s heaven was created and lived among the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. How long this existed we do not know, but we are told that the harmony ended. It ended when the greatest angel, Lucifer, decided to mutiny against God. 1/3 of all the angels joined Lucifer’s coup. The coup failed miserably and Satan and his followers were thrust out of Heaven.
The Son however was not done creating. This is where we come in. Gen 1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. That’s our world.
For six days Jesus creates and with each creation God exclaims it is good. Adam and Eve and the earth were perfect. They joined the harmony of God and his heavens.
But the evil one, Lucifer made a play for man and woman to break from God and his family. With one bite of forbidden fruit, mankind fell away from God’s perfect relationship with them.
But fear not, the son had already planned to save mankind. Jesus would leave heaven and rescue each and every person who longed to reconnect with God. Jesus would make a way for us to come back into God family -forgiven and restored. Jesus did that by paying the price for each and every one of our mistakes. The new deal is all about choice, we must choose God as our leader, our savior and our God. We get to God through the son. We say yes to Jesus offer of forgiveness and rescue through faith.
Faith God wants us in is family
Faith Jesus is the doorway to salvation and
Faith that Jesus is indeed Gods son and the rescuer.
Gods entire story is one of wooing us into a loving relationship with him. It’s the greatest love story there is.
